Robert Rosen's investigative memoir, "Beaver Street: A History of Modern Pornography," a Vanity Fair Hot Type pick, was published by London indie Headpress in the U.K. last year and in the U.S. in June. In "Beaver Street," Rosen defines "modern pornography" as the fusion of erotica and computers, which first occurred at High Society magazine in 1983, when they launched their "free" phone-sex lines. The book explores what Rosen witnessed over a 16-year period as an editor for such magazines as High Society, Swank, Stag, and D-Cup, and combines these first-hand accounts with research and reporting to create a detailed insider's portrait of a multi-billion-dollar industry in a state of traumatic upheaval. Michael Musto of the Village Voice called “Beaver Street” “entertaining, insightful, and hot.” Rosen is also the author of "Nowhere Man: The Final Days of John Lennon," which was an international bestseller.

Talk Story TV Presents Adventurer and Poet, Gavriel Navarro
Gavriel Navarro is a Spanish-born poet, musician and artist who grew up in Venezuela and England. After graduating with a degree in Fine Arts and Graphic Design, he spent eleven years in the Amazon as a hunter, an Eco-tourism guide and apprentice of shamanic wisdom. The multilingual Navarro now makes his home in Japan where he applies the lessons of his peripatetic life through film-making and transcendent poetry. He will be talking about his adventurous life and reading poetry from his book.
"Reaching the end of a voyage, we come to an important truth: The end is only the beginning!" says Navarro, "By letting go of false concepts such as accident and coincidence, we allow synchronicity to lead our lives, taking us further along the paths of clarity and discovery. The only laws we need to understand are the laws of the heart, where oceans of possibility come into being, where infinite space can balance the extremes of our imperfections. Every lesson learned is a seed planted. Detours and impediments become opportunities, and we discover the freedom that comes with allowing. Perhaps our greatest joy awaits us at the end of this physical voyage, when we look back at the seeds we planted and discover that they have become a forest, nurturing life and inviting life to return!"
Navarro's first book the "The Wind and The Sea Poems and Reflections on the Voyage of No Return" is available in Amazon.com

Julia Widdop with Carolyn CJ Jones on Dreamtime Radio
Carolyn CJ Jones is an award-winning author, national speaker, and life coach whose message of hope brings people to a place of peace within. Over the past 11 years, she has shed her own grudges, bitterness, and grief to find forgiveness and peace. Now she helps others to do the same, guiding them as they go through their own transformation. Her nationally-acclaimed book, "Opening the Gates of the Heart: A Journey of Healing," is the winner of several awards in 2012, including a Silver Medal for best Gift/Specialty book, an Honorable Mention in the Spirituality category, and an award for best cover art. Prior to 2012, her book received several prizes for Photography and Spirituality alike. Whether speaking or coaching, Carolyn inspires audiences and clients, instilling an awareness of forgiveness, grief resolution, and accountability. Her services are based on her book, which is one of inspirational verses and photographs of wrought-iron gates that guides the reader from great angst to deep inner peace. In her “previous” life, Carolyn was a Registered Nurse for twenty-two years, practicing administrative nursing. “My most gratifying experience was when I was working for a state Social Services Department. While there, I initiated, developed, and operated a program that allowed technology-dependent children who were living in hospital ICUs, to be cared for at home with hourly private-duty nursing care.” Carolyn presents herself to you with the same expertise, determination, and passion that she showed for the children years ago.
Carolyn is also presenting her new book, Opening the Gates of the Heart: A Journey of Healing 9780982635209
